Artist in limbo
An exhibition of work by Hannah Lees, whose residency at Limbo Arts/Substation is recorded on on a-n Projects unedited, opens this week. The exhibition is a culmination of her three-week project, which has been open to the public for the residencys duration.
Hannah used the opportunity to examine the contrasting ideas of the towns apparent redundancy, using objects bought in pound shops and gift shops in Margate. Her work questions the divide between the natural world and our modern existence; combining natural materials with the modern, giving found objects a second life.
Limbo is an artists group that runs a gallery/project space and artists studios in a former Seeboard Power Networks (now EDF Energy) building in Margate .
The exhibition runs 25-29 July at Limbo Arts/Substation, Bilton Square, High Street, Margate.
