Your words and my mouth
Hospitalfield House in Arbroath is hosting a two-day exhibition and live arts event on 22-23 September. The house and grounds will be the setting for the work of over twenty-one practitioners working in installation, performance, music, film and experimental sound. There will be new site-specific work by recent resident artists Neil Clements, Craig Coulthard, Sam Kennedy and Catherine Street.
Other exhibited works and performances include a new installation audio piece by Ilana Halperin from the ongoing project Toward Heilprin Land, and a performance orchestrated by Berlin-based artist Christian Sievers. Other artists include Jonathan Adam, Blood Music, Killerstreet, Toshiyuki Kobayashi, Derek Lodge, Nob, Anna McCarthy, Alasdair Roberts, Jonathan Scott, David Sherry, Krisdy Shindler, Sir Leonard Hatred Devotional Ensemble, Claire Todd, Usurper and Duncan Williamson.
Your Words and My Mouth is a first-time curatorial collaboration between Dundee-based organisations Generator Projects, Bad Bad Boys Club, Dundee Contemporary Arts, University of Dundee Exhibitions Department and Hospitalfield.
Hospitalfields artists residencies, advertised annually in a-n, follow on from the estates rich cultural history centre of social, architectural and agricultural improvement programmes in the 19th century. The organisers hope that this event will provide a significant and challenging context by which the cultural and architectural heritage will act as a catalyst for many of the participating artists.
