Paradise stories

Kai-Oi Jay Yung, one of the speakers at the last Liverpool AIR event, will open a joint opening across two Liverpool galleries this week. In the RENEW Rooms she will be transforming the highly polished traditionally architecture/design space into and interdisciplinary interpretation of ‘Paradise’. A multi-channel video piece presented amongst constructions of day-glow flora and fauna will investigate mankind’s modern-day pursuit of happiness and utopia.

Over at the International Gallery Kai-Oi Jay Yung has invited eight international artists from as far as Georgio and Stuttgart to voice their interpretation of paradise. Chong Boon Pok, Didi Dunphy, Chris Eckersley, Maslen & Mehra, Kurtz & Beatty, Faye Peacock, Sari Lievonen, Kaspar Wimberley will be presenting performance, sound art and photography.
