Cristina Prudente’s’s expectations of 12 international artists were fulfilled at the “I have a dream”, exhibition held at Candid Arts Gallery, Islington in March . Open/Private Preview, where twelve international artists combined their works in a visual exhibition of thought.
The artists' cognitive reaction to the exhibition’s theme on Technology and toxicity and how it has made an indent on Society and Nature is explored. The results of which show a worrying similarity of resultant subject matter, from sawdust to thought wells. The twelve artists, like jurors, had not met or talked together on this subject before. Cristina had the notion to collaborate, and corroborate with them to define the subject and show it to the observer. This is not a single view, but a view of the world in which we all survive, some better than others. This was an exploration by these artists through the various aspects of zeitgeist that is apparent today. From traditional work to abstract, the views expressed were subtle and simplistic, allegorical paradigms for the present and the future in the way that these artists see technology toxicity in the world today.
There was an excellent response from those who attended the exhibition. Many comments of “I like that”, but truthfully the remarks were more of interest in the works on show: painting, sculpture, drawing, three-dimensional and video.
The works on display at the exhibition involved artists from China, South America, Italy, Germany, and England:
