Regeneration!

Any artists with experience of working in the regeneration of run down areas or towns, please let me know your experiences - successes or failures.  It is my remit to audit Art/Artists in the Ilfracombe area of North Devon, with a view to regenerating the town, using 'Art' as the catalyst.

I am Chair of North Devon Arts, the foremost art group in the area, with over 200 members; www.northdevonarts.co.uk

I organise Art Trek Open Studios as part of the North Devon Festival. It is a successful, growing event, now in its sixth year. The call is out for artists to take part in this 2009 event, 19th - 21st June and 26th - 28th June. Application deadline; 31st January 2009. Please contact; stella@widgerystudios.com

My art-forms are; tapestry and photography, mainly working on projects within the community.
