I am primarily interested in the pictorial space within paintings; how figuration or image in a painting depends on how pictorial space is held together, through qualities such as composition, colour and texture and how it comes apart; through the force of indistinctions, in-between spaces, or 'leakages' which can 'un-ground' the pictorial space giving it an un-centered, unlimited and formless state.  Also how pictorial space achieves order out of this chaos.
