A Modest Proposal

Twelve artists from the UK and abroad present proposals with the potential to change the way we view our world. The exhibition takes its title from Jonathan Swift’s 1729 essay of the same name. Swift, the author of ‘Gulliver’s Travels’ is arguably one of the most well know satirical writers in the English language: the artworks in ‘A Modest Proposal’ continue the artistic tradition of using satire to both provoke and entertain.

Artists include:

William Hogarth, George Cruikshank, James Rigler , Benrik Ltd , Adam Latham, Paul Bloomfield, Jens Strandberg, Narda Fabiola Alvarado , Kaoru Katayama, Andrew Cooke
Claire Fontaine, Sean Hawkridge, The Klassnik Corporation
