Visual art exhibitions and events with a platform for critical writing
26 September - 16 October 2008
‘‘Next Stop' is the first solo exhibition in Britain by the internationally renowned Spanish artist, Jose Luis Puche. The artist's work, displayed in twelve large-scale figurative paintings in white and blue colors, explores the concept of materialism and how society is enslaved by possessions. Through his work Jose Luis Puche shows that modern-day society is no longer built on politics and morality but is driven by a need to consume. Jose Luis Puche states, "the people (in my paintings) are victims of their own ambitions and they depend on them, it is a vicious circle without an end."
